APEX Surface Care Honored as One of North Texas’ Most Inspiring Leaders of 2020
GRAPEVINE, Texas, Nov. 10, 2020 /WEBWIRE/ – APEX Surface Care, the nation’s most experienced, reliable and sustainable commercial surface care company, has been named one of the Most Inspiring Leaders of 2020 by the Dallas Business Journal. The new award honors six companies and 14 individuals who made extraordinary contributions to the North Texas region this year despite the challenges presented by COVID-19.
“For over 20 years, our business philosophy has been to deliver delight to our customers by providing quality commercial flooring services while also using our business to inspire, empower and serve others,” said APEX CEO Thomas Holland. “During the pandemic, our entire team has come together to take our business to the next level and identify new opportunities to give back to the community. We are deeply honored to be recognized for our efforts with this award.”
APEX is a member of the Corporate Floors family of brands, which also includes Texas Carpet Recycling and APEX Property Services. All four companies were named Certified B Corporations this summer, meaning they are committed to using business as a force for good. APEX also achieved Cleaning Industry Management (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (GB) certification with honors from ISSA, the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, this year. CIMS-GB certification demonstrates that APEX has undergone a comprehensive assessment by an independent, accredited assessor and has successfully demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of environmentally preferable services that are designed to meet customer needs and expectations.
“When COVID started to impact our business in March, we decided to take the opportunity to finish several important certifications,” Holland said. “It was important that we as a company receive third-party validation of our commitments and processes so that we could emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever.”
True to its B Corp values, the company also supported the community during this stressful time. In March, after a large national client committed to paying the company for its contracted building maintenance services even though its offices were closed due to the pandemic, APEX established the Community Giveback Program to provide pro bono cleaning and disinfecting services to nonprofits in Texas, Colorado and California, including women’s shelters, family and child crisis centers, homeless shelters and food banks. To date, APEX has donated hundreds of hours to dozens of nonprofits such as The Gatehouse in Grapevine; East Bay Agency for Children in Oakland, California; and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. The company has since vowed to fund this program on a continual basis.
During the pandemic, APEX has disinfected over 50 million square feet of space for essential businesses across the country.
Dallas Business Journal’s Most Inspiring Leaders honorees will be interviewed about their contributions during a special virtual awards program broadcast live on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
