Meet the Team: Patrick O’Sullivan
Patrick O’Sullivan joined APEX Group, a Diverzify Company, as a senior account executive in May 2025. In his new role, Patrick will be leading business development across Atlanta and the southeastern region while continuing to build strong relationships.
“Patrick knows the business inside and out,” said Thomas Holland, president of APEX Group. “At the same time, he makes it a point to get to know his clients just as well. We couldn’t have asked for a more qualified candidate or a better core value fit.”
We recently sat down with Patrick to welcome him to the team and learn more about him, both personally and professionally.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in Atlanta and attended the Westminster Schools, where I was a six-year three-sport athlete playing football, wrestling and running track. I also enjoyed boxing for a period whenever I could find time. I participated in chorus throughout my tenure at Westminster and share a love of music with my daughter, who is very talented and has the voice of an angel. College took me to Memphis, Tennessee, where I played football for Rhodes College before ending up at Emory University, where I threw the shot put and discus for the track team. I pursued courses in biology, psychology and Spanish in the hope of entering the medical profession one day.
I currently reside in Buckhead within Atlanta and have two children, Molly, 14, and Quinn, 11. Both are very interested in golf, and the three of us spend a great deal of time at the driving range perfecting our swings (I must admit theirs are better than mine). They also are very active in Scouting; my daughter is working on her Eagle Scout project, and I am an assistant Scout leader and participate in camping trips and other activities. I also have coached my son’s baseball and football teams, which has been wonderful for keeping me active.
2. Why did you decide to join the APEX Group team?
After speaking with several integral players within the APEX and Diverzify family, I quickly realized what a monster of an opportunity this position would be. I am all about building something and creating an organization with opportunities for a host of people—the more, the better. With the backing of Diverzify’s resources and the skills and capabilities of the APEX team, I cannot imagine going anywhere but straight to the top. This was an opportunity to do something slightly different in my career while still interacting and serving the clients I have spent decades developing relationships with. The position also offers tremendous space to move outside my comfort zone and explore new opportunities while building new and exciting relationships.
3. How has your past experience prepared you for your new role?
I have over 30 years of experience in the commercial cleaning and maintenance industry, which directly relates to my new position. I have consistently studied all aspects of the field, including the chemistry and composition of natural stone, wood, ceramic and other commercial flooring types, and have performed much of the work myself alongside the technicians taking the lead. I have learned throughout the years exactly how to relate to each client, and I bring a level of humility and understanding that I believe makes me an ideal candidate for this particular role.
4. What are your hobbies?
I enjoy cooking, camping, gardening, golf, and motorcycling in the mountains, especially with my daughter, who is constantly begging me for a weekend ride. I also enjoy watching sports and attending whatever type of game may be afoot. I spend a great deal of time working with my two German shepherds, who together tip the scales at over 200 lbs. My daughter and I are avid concert-goers, and although she is only 14 years old, her appreciation for music is vast, and we listen to the classics together and share songs via text on a regular basis. I also play the guitar, although anyone within earshot might prefer that I did not. Lastly, my children refer to me as Mr. Fix-it as there always seems to be something in need of repair and I have just about every tool known to man. This makes me very popular with the neighbors when they have a project arise.
5. What's the most interesting article or book you've read lately?
I usually have three or so books going at any given time, and our excellent public library nearby keeps them coming. Most recently I have been reading Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell as well as a book on metabolic syndrome and a Dale Carnegie book on leadership. Most of the articles I read are centered around health and nutrition, a field I enjoy delving into constantly.
6. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s a very tough question as I am a confirmed and dedicated foodie. I enjoy eating and cooking (and exposing my children to) everything from Cuban, Mexican, Italian, Persian, and Mediterranean cuisines to Thai, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Bangladeshi, and Indian dishes. Our next-door neighbors are from Belarus and have friends from all over Eastern Europe visiting regularly, so we have had the pleasure of sampling many of the dishes originating in those areas. All that said, if I had to select one meal for the remainder of my existence, I suppose it would be a very spicy rendition of Thai basil chicken or Korean bibimbap with plenty of kimchi on the side.
7. What's on your bucket list?
A few decades ago, a high school buddy of mine who enlisted in the Special Forces got me into skydiving, although it has been many years since my last jump. I suppose it would be fun to get back into that at some point. I’d also like to finally complete my private pilot courses and become a licensed pilot. My children and I never miss an air show within a 100-mile radius of us, and they share my love of being airborne.
