Nothing is more exciting than interacting with our industry colleagues across the globe. That’s exactly what we had the opportunity to do in mid-October, when the IFMA World Workplace came to the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. This event draws thousands of international facility managers to gather together for three days of continuing education, an expo, networking and learning.
Among those in attendance was our awesome APEX team, who could be found talking about “all things surface care” in our cupcake-themed exhibit booth in the Expo hall.
Did we say…cupcakes?
The point is all about what makes APEX different. It's the extra things, the “goodies” (like cupcakes) that we bring to our clients (more on that in our next blog). For the facility professionals who stopped by our booth, those edible goodies were pretty sweet, too! And by the way, thank you to all the people who told us we had the best booth at the show (we think they just wanted a cupcake).
We mixed some fun in with a serious cause as well, hosting a fantastic Strike Back bowling party at Lucky Strike. More than 150 facility managers joined us, along with members of the Houston Police and Fire departments, to raise funds for the American Red Cross. APEX donated $100 for every strike thrown; by the end of the night, more than $5,100 was raised for the Red Cross to help with Hurricane relief efforts in Houston and Puerto Rico.
WIFM – National Women in Facility Management Meets at IFMA World Workplace
In addition, APEX hosted the national Women in Facility Management meeting, a group we've been proud to sponsor for the last eight years. More than 85 facility professionals a lunch meeting and round table discussions. Most exciting of all was how to expand WIFM nationally!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth, helped raise dollars at our bowling event and took part in the WIFM meeting. It was a great week in Houston with a great group of colleagues.
From your APEX friends,
